DAY 01: ADDIS ABABA

Meet and greet you ETHIO BLOSSOMS TOUR AND TARVEL representative at exit of luggage claim and transfer you to the hotel. There may be a wait at the airport to retrieve your baggage from the airport system. Transfer to the 4* Jupiter International Hotel with two superb locations in Addis Ababa’s Kazanchise area, you’ll be within walking distance of the UNECA center. The 142 rooms are spacious and comfortable with free broadband internet and multichannel satellite television. The hotel also has a steam room, fitness center, massage, spa and sauna, a great way to relax and unwind after your long flight. You’re booked on to a half-day tour of the city to include: the National Archeological Museum of Addis Ababa and Merkato – the largest open-air market in Africa. Then drive to Mt. Entoto (3,200 meters) for a panoramic view of the capital.

  • Visitors to Ethiopia require visas. The only exceptions are nationals from Djibouti and Kenya and travellers who arrive in Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to catch a connecting flight.
  • You’ll return to Addis Ababa on your last day when we’ve scheduled a half day tour of the city and the Merkato market, including visiting the National Archaeological Museum of Addis Ababa.

DAY 02: Drive Harar

Early in the morning you will drive to Harar. En route you will visit Awash National Park. Awash-Harar Drive across the Rift valley floor and along the spine of the beautiful Ahmar Mountains to Harar. This is an early 16th century eastern Ethiopian city, was once an important trade centre and is famous for its ancient Arabic structures, great city walls, and the French poet Rimbaud’s house. Harar is an Islamic centre with at least 99 mosques, and is considered to be the fourth holiest Islamic city, after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. At night you will visit the hyena man, who feeds the hyenas every night just outside the walls of the city. This tradition was started long ago to prevent these wild hyenas from hunting for food in the town.

DAY 03: VISIT THE WALLED TOWN OF HARAR

You will have an early breakfast you will have full day discovering the treasures hidden in the narrow alleyways of the walled city of Harar, with its colorful markets, countless mosques and shrines and unique Harari people and home. and visit the walled city of Jegol, the house of Arthur Rimbaud (a French poetry who lived 1880’s in Harar) and Harari Cultural Museum. Sites you will visit include: the House of Rimbaud, Ras Tafari’s House, Ras Mekonnen’s Palace, the Harari National Cultural Center, and the tomb of Emir Nur, who built the famous Jugol, as the wall is known locally You will depart to Diredawa for overnight.

DAY 04: FLY – ADDIS ABABA – MEKELLE

Early in the morning drive to Diredawa for flay to Addis Ababa and fly to Mekelle. You will have a brief visit to the lively market at Kefira before transferring to the airport for return flight to Addis Ababa. And then you will have a connected flight to Mekelle. You will arrive late in the afternoon in Mekelle and have check in to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 05: VISIT AL NEJASH MOSQUE

Early in the morning after breakfast you will drive some 45 Km to the famous Al Nejash Mosque. Al Nejash Mosque is the oldest mosque in Ethiopia which dates back to 6 century AD and is one of the holiest places for the Muslim community in the world. The mosque is a cross-cultural link between Muslim and people of Ethiopia. The architecture of the mosque is very impressive. This day you will spend the morning visiting the mosque and at mid-day, you will attend the Friday prayer at this historic mosque which makes your tour unforgettable.

DAY 06: VISIT AL NEJASH MOSQUE FLY TO ADDIS ABABA 

After a relaxed breakfast you will fly to Addis Ababa. You will arrive in Addis Ababa afternoon where you will do some shopping for souvenirs. Finally you will be taken to a farewell dinner depending on your scheduled flight; you will be transferred out to Bole International Airport for return flight back home.
